2025 Downtown Rehabilitation Grant Awards

The City of Kearney, in partnership with the Community Redevelopment Authority and Downtown Improvement Board, is proud to announce the 2025 Downtown Rehabilitation Grant Program awards for 13 projects. This annual grant program is competitive, and we appreciate the excitement and vision the Downtown property owners have, as well as the significant personal investment they make to maintain these historic properties.
The Downtown Rehabilitation Grant Program is designed to encourage renovation and preservation efforts for downtown buildings. Property owners requested funds to address various improvements, including but not limited to façade improvements, roof and brick repairs, window and door replacements, plumbing and electrical upgrades, and other eligible renovation costs.
2025 projects receiving funds include:

? $20,000 to Jackalope, LLC at 2120 Central Avenue for façade improvements, including replacing a historic cornice.

? $15,000 to SCORR Marketing at 2201 Central Avenue to conduct exterior brick tuckpoint for preservation.

? $13,420 to the Knights of Columbus at 1900 Central Avenue to conduct exterior brick tuckpoint for preservation and roof repair.

? $10,000 to Platinum Awards & Gifts at 2106 Central Avenue for façade improvements.

? $10,000 to Young Electric at 1800 Central Avenue for façade improvements, including
updated windows.

? $7,000 to Larry Eggert (Property Owner) at 1816 Central Avenue for façade
improvements, including exterior repair for preservation and roof repair.

? $4,000 to Yandas Music at 2301 Central Avenue for façade improvements to the awning.

? $4,000 to Patrick Moore (Property Owner) at 2008 A Avenue for façade improvements.

? $4,000 to Yellow Brick Road, LLC at 2119 A Avenue for façade improvements.

? $3,500 to Simply Blessed at 2207 & 2209 Central Avenue for energy efficiency updates
to the HVAC and façade improvements.

? $3,500 to RW Sorensen Construction at 1926 2nd Avenue for façade improvements,
including adding a brick overlay and updating doors.

? $3,319 to Platte Valley Taphouse at 14 N Railroad Street for façade improvements.
