LINCOLN — Cedar Catholic limited Southwest to its lowest point total of the season and beat the Roughriders 54-27 on Wednesday night.

With the win, #6 Cedar Catholic advances to the Class D-1 semifinals to face #2 Elm Creek.

The Trojans trailed 4-3 early in the game before going on an 11-0 run and never relinquishing the lead. Cedar Catholic’s defense was smothering and forced 11 first-quarter turnovers. The Roughriders never figured out the Cedar defense and turned it over 28 times in the game. Southwest went just 1-16 from beyond the arc.

The victory marks an impressive season turnaround for the Trojans. Cedar Catholic was 12-11 just two weeks ago before wining four straight games to make the state semis.
