LINCOLN — Zoe Beveridge made eight threes and Gothenburg used a hot start to take down Bridgeport 69-51 in the Class C-1 state quarterfinals.

With her shooting success, Beveridge set a new Class C-1 state tournament record for made three-pointers in a game and tied the previous all-class state tournament record. She passed Brooke and Taylor Kissinger of Minden, who each made seven threes in a game. She tied Mya Babbit of Millard South, who also made eight threes in 2023. Madalyn Dolliver of Pender made nine threes in a different game Wednesday morning to set a new all-class state tournament record.

Beveridge was efficient in her shooting, making eight from long range in only 13 attempts. The sophomore led all scorers with 28 points.

The Swedes got off to a nearly perfect start. They scored the first 20 points of the game and led 25-7 after one quarter. Bridgeport used a strong finish to the third quarter and start to the fourth to make it a seven-point game before more threes from Beveridge sealed the Gothenburg win.

Gothenburg will play Lincoln Christian in the C-1 semifinals at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The game will be televised on News Channel Nebraska.
