LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska has a new Class A state champion.

Millard South dethroned Omaha Westside be defeating the two-time defending champion Warriors 27-10 on Monday night.

Junior quarterback Jett Thomalla passed for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns. Aamir Jackson accounted for three total scores including a game-sealing 81 yard touchdown run with under two minutes to play.

Tay Tay Jenkins led Westside with 121 yards rushing and a score in the defeat.

The victory marks the third state title for Millard South. The first two were in 1995 and 2009.
