OMAHA, Neb. — The Norris boys and Westside girls each won their respective state track team title for the first time in school history.

Norris took home the Class B gold in dominating fashion, besting second place Waverly by nearly 50 points.

The Westside girls edged Papillion-La Vista South by 1.5 points to take gold.

Kearney took the Class A boys title, winning its 17th in program history and first since 2014.

The Waverly girls (66) won the Class B gold by being four points better than Elkhorn North (62).

New state and/or meet records:

800m run: Ellie Thomas of Norris broke the state and meet record with a time of 2:08.02 in Class B. Omaha Westside's Stella Minor set a new state and meet record with a time of 2:06.41 in Class A. Minor's time is the 8th best in the nation.

100m hurdles: Sidney's Chloe Ahrens repeated as the Class B girls state champ while setting a state and meet record with a time of 14.42.

100m dash: Ethan Baessler of Blair broke his own state and meet record from last year with a time of 10.51 in Class B.

1600m run: Norris's Riley Boonstra sets a Class B state and meet record with a time of 4:14.01. The future Husker broke a meet record that stood since 1981. Fremont then set a state and all class meet record with a time of 4:08.61.

4x400m relay: The Elkhorn South girls set a state and meet record with a time of 3:51.63 in Class B. The record-setting team was made up of Madeline Harrison, Britt Prince, Leah Robinson and Sydney Stodden.
