HASTINGS, Neb. - Freshman Hunter Nepple scored 20 points and Adams Central pulled away from Kearney Catholic for a 48-32 home win on Friday night.

Kearney Catholic (11-10) scored the first basket of the game but the Patriots (18-4) quickly took the lead and stayed in front for the remainder of the game. With the score 21-15 midway through the second quarter, Adams Central started on a 15-0 run that lasted into the third quarter to gain an insurmountable 21-point lead. They held the Stars to just four points in the third quarter and coasted to a comfortable victory.

It was a crucial win for the Patriots, who are trying to stay in the running for a wild card spot in a district final in case they were to lose in subdistrict play. Kearney Catholic is the top seed in its subdistrict.
