EWING - Seventeen-point deficits are hard enough to erase, without those deficits coming with eight minutes to go against one of the better ball-handling teams in the state of Nebraska.

But Summerland found a way, riding big shot after big shot and forcing enough turnovers down the stretch to shock Lutheran High Northeast 49-46.

The Eagles had owned the game on both ends of the floor, particularly in the third quarter, as a six-point halftime lead swelled to 17.

But the Bobcats opened the fourth quarter on a 16-0 run, helped by Lutheran High going ice cold from both the field (0/11) and the free throw line (1/6).

Meanwhile, Summerland's offense came alive, paced by junior Preston Hoke, who scored 13 of his game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 10 seconds to play.
