LINCOLN - Clarkson-Leigh punched their ticket to the C2 finals Friday, while the season ended for five other Northeast Nebraska teams.

The Patriots knocked off Oakland-Craig in straight sets, 25-20/25-15/25-10. Chloe Hanel had 12 kills for Clarkson-Leigh, while Baylee Settje added in 10. Briar Ray led all Knights with 9 kills. The Patriots face Lincoln Lutheran Saturday at 1pm for the state championship.

Meanwhile, Guardian Angels Central Catholic fell to Amherst in a sweep, as did Elgin Public/Pope John to Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. Wynot went down in four sets to Cambridge.

Kills leaders included Kayla Pinkelman of Wynot (14), Ashlynne Charf of EPPJ (8) and Kelsy Steffen of GACC (20).

Pierce took Kearney Catholic the distance, coming back from a 2-1 deficit to force a fifth and deciding set. Trailing 7-1, the Lady Jays rallied to tie it at 15 before ultimately coming up short 17-15. Nora Herian topped all Pierce players with 19 kills and Jaya Wachholtz chipped in 12.
