NORFOLK, Neb. -- Both of Northeast Community College's soccer teams will remain in the top 10 nationally after each squad moved to 4-0 with impressive victories over Central Community College Sunday night.

The Hawks took the opener in the doubleheader with a 4-0 win over the Raiders in the women's game.

That was followed by a 3-0 victory by the Northeast men.

Aidyn Woodall, a second-team All-American last season, opened the scoring in the women's game with her third goal of the season.

Marleigh Leister added to the Hawks' first half with a penalty kick conversion.

Delaney Wells then assisted two second-half goals for Northeast, first a Jessie Eijbersen goal inside the box, followed by a deep blast by Jaidyn Cavalieri.

The Northeast women's squad has now outscored its foes 16-3 on the season.

The Hawks then claimed the men's game as well, starting the scoring with a 25th-minute Luca Rosen goal off a feed from Jeevan Purewal.

Central nearly tied the game with a Syrus Connoly strike early in the second half, but Victor Hidalgo helped clear the line with goalkeeper Mathias Kristoffersen out of the box in an attempt to contest the shot.

Northeast took advantage and doubled its lead shortly afterward on an Edouard Nys free kick.

The Hawks added one more with Lucan Van Den Berg knocking home a goal off a Purewal assist.

Northeast has now outscored its opponents 20-2 through four games of the 2023 campaign.
