HASTINGS, Neb. — Rachel Goodon made key buckets in the fourth quarter and #3 Adams Central held off #6 Gothenburg 45-38 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The win puts the Patriots (25-1) into the state semifinals for the second straight season and the third time in four years.

Adams Central built a 23-13 lead at halftime on the strength of strong defense. They led 33-22 late in the 3rd quarter before the Swedes (20-5) went on a 14-3 run to tie the game at 36-36.

Goodon made a shot in the lane to give the Patriots the 40-38 lead and followed it up with two made free throws to get some separation.

Adams Central will face #2 Bridgeport on Friday at 10:45 a.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The game will be televised on News Channel Nebraska and will air on radio on KHAS 1230 AM/104.1 FM.
