OMAHA - The Norfolk Catholic Knights finish off a hard-fought game against Boys Town and leave Omaha with a 56-50 win over the Cowboys.

The Cowboys opened the ballgame with a three off the bat to lead 3-0, but the Knights didn't let the early bucket steal the momentum.

Norfolk Catholic used a strong post-centered game plan to muscle points on the board, thanks to Kade Pieper and Nolan Fennessy.

The Knights jumped out to an 18-7 first quarter lead and were up by as much as 12 in the first half, before the Cowboys stole the momentum going into the locker room.

Down by 10, Boys Town's Nyree Poteet heaved a three-point shot near the logo and connected, erupting the home crowd and sending the Cowboys into the locker room down 26-19.

The Cowboys capitalized off of a few Knights turnovers and tied the game in the third quarter.

Norfolk Catholic went back to what was working early, forcing the ball into Fennessy an Pieper, along with Karter Kerkman handling the ball and creating space on drives.

The Cowboys connected on another buzzer-beater at the end of the third quarter, with the Knights only leading 36-34.

In the fourth quarter, both the Cowboys and the Knights battled, but Norfolk Catholic won the free-throw game while Boys Town couldn't convert a few big shots.

The Knights managed to hold on over the Class C1 Cowboys 56-50 to secure win number 14 on the season in a big way, as both teams surge toward subdistricts.
