FREMONT - It wasn't easy, but Wisner-Pilger made the plays they needed to end a long conference title drought, beating Bancroft-Rosalie 58-56.

The Gators led for most of the second half, building a lead as large as eight points.

But they almost saw the lead erode in an unusual stretch late in the game. Wisner-Pilger led 57-51 with under 30 seconds to go, when Bancroft-Rosalie's Elliott Nottleman hit a three-pointer, stole the inbounds pass, and saved it from going out of bounds to Samuel Dick, who laid it in, making it a 57-56 game with just nine seconds to go.

After the Gators' Hunter Palmer hit one of two free throws, a half-court shot at the buzzer by the Panthers' Braylon Hunter bounced off the rim, allowing Wisner-Pilger to escape with the win.
