Knights overcome slow start to take down Panthers 51-29
NORFOLK - After two straight losses, the Lincoln Southeast Knights answer right back with two straight wins, including a decisive win on the road in Norfolk on Thursday evening.
The Panthers and the Knights battled early in the first quarter, with Sam Searcy opening up the offense for LSE and Tasha Eisenhauer heating up for the Panthers.
After one quarter, the Knights led 12-10, but after an Emerson Waldow three to bring the Panthers within a point at 14-13, LSE ended the half on a 14-0 run to lead 28-13 at halftime.
The lead was too much for Norfolk to comeback from after both teams managed to keep pace in the third quarter and Lincoln Southeast pulled away even more in the fourth to leave Norfolk with a 22-point win.
Sam Searcy led all scorers with 19-points in a break-out performance both on the stat sheet and with hustle plays.
The strong play from Searcy helps lead Lincoln Southeast to a 9-8 record at this point on the year, while Norfolk falls to 2-16.
