CROFTON - The strength of the Mid-States Conference was on display Thursday night, when the #4 Crofton Warriors pulled out a tight win over the Pierce Bluejays 39-33.

Crofton jumped out to a 9-4 lead, before Pierce rang back and went up 11-10 after one quarter.

The second quarter was back and forth, both teams playing physical and fighting to a halftime tie at 18 a piece.

A couple big hustle plays from Ellie Tramp and Caitlin Guenther put the Warriors on top 27-23 heading into the final frame and thats where Crofton was able to pull out a close 6-point win over Pierce.

Elli Tramp finished with 11 points, followed Caitlin Guenther with 10 and Sammie Allen with 6 for the Warriors.

Pierce was led by Skyler Scholting, who tallied 14 points. Morgan Moeller finished with 7 for the Jays.

This matchup was a preview of whats to come with the Mid State's Conference Tournament beginning next week. 

The 16-1 Crofton Warriors hold the #2 seed, while the Pierce Blue Jays at 12-6, are the #4 seed.
