The Scotus Shamrocks overcame a slow start and 13 point deficit to rally and take down rival Lakeview 42-40 in the Columbus Holiday Tournament final.

The Vikings jumped out to a 15-6 first quarter lead over its rival Scotus, before holding on to a 29-17 lead at the break.

That's when Scotus began to wake up offensively. Max Wemhoff knocked down a few interior shots, while Cohen Pehlan hit a three to cut the lead to just 5 points.

Pehlan continued his hot shooting, knocking down two more perimeter bombs in the 4th quarter.

Jackson Heng gave Scotus its first lead since the first quarter by putting down a corner three, followed by Owen Lindhorst converting a massive and one.

Lakeview's Turner Halvorsen had a chance at the free throw line with no time left to tie, but after missing the first, was forced to intentionally miss and attempt a rebound. Scotus recovered the ball and the win.

Max Wemhoff led Scotus with 10 points, followed by Jackson Heng and Cohen Pehlan with 9 and Owen Lindhorst with 8.

Lakeview's Turner Halvorsen finished with 11, Will Hrouda with 10 and Maxwell Fremarek with 9.

Scotus wins it's 6th Columbus Holiday Tournament final in 7 years.

Lakeview battled tight, but hasn't won the Columbus Holiday Tournament final since 2012.

The Shamrocks improve to 6-2, while the Vikings fall to 2-7.
