ALBION - In another classic battle between Norfolk Catholic and Boone Central, the Cardinals reign victorious against the Knights 53-37.

The 16-point Cardinal win marks the first victory over the Knights since 2017.

Norfolk Catholic led 1-0 after a Karter Kerkman free throw, but that was the only lead the Knights would have during the next four quarters.

Boone Central opened up an offensive explosion, flying to an 11-0 run which lead to a 20-10 Cardinal lead at the end of the opening quarter.

Alex Christo was the man of the hour, scoring 11 points in the first quarter.

The Knights started to creep back into the picture, cutting the deficit to just six points, but the Cardinals didn't falter.

Boone Central managed to stand strong and bring the lead back up to 11 at the break.

After a slow start to the third quarter for both squads, the Cardinals found success and began to run away with the lead.

Norfolk Catholic found success in the post with Kade Pieper, but he was the lone star in the second half for the Knights.

Meanwhile, long possessions, solid scoring from Alex Christo and a key interior presence from Trent Patzel was what Boone Central used to power its way to victory, finishing off Norfolk Catholic 53-37.

Alex Christo led Boone Central with 17 points, while Patzel scored 13, as the Cardinals improve to 3-2.

Kade Pieper scored 19 points to lead all scorers in the Knights defeat. Norfolk Catholic drops to 2-2 on the young season.
