Hastings Chamber of Commerce and Hastings Economic Development Corporation will share leadership

HASTINGS, NE — Two Hastings organizations with similar missions are forming a new partnership to share leadership.
The Hastings Chamber of Commerce and Hastings Economic Development Corporation announced on Wednesday that they will align under the leadership of one president. They will maintain separate boards of directors but share some resources and staff.
“I’m very proud of all the hard work that both the HEDC and Chamber Executive Boards did in preparation to make this partnership happen. This is an extremely exciting time for the city of Hastings”, HEDC Board Chair Travis Turek said.
“This partnership brings together the strengths of our two organizations to partner in the growth and development of our community. I am excited for what this means for our existing business and industry partners, as well as those looking to choose Hastings in the future,” Hastings Chamber Board Chair Mat Habrock said.
The Chamber Board approved the partnership on November 30 and the Economic Development Board approved it on Monday. The measures both passed unanimously.
The initial news release didn’t mention a timeline to find a unified president or if the current leaders of the organizations will be considered for that role.
