Logan County: Voters pass grant funds for Peetz school district
Matthew Crowder got 60.21% of the vote to become the county sheriff, replacing the retiring Philip Biersdorfer. Challenge, Michael S Woltemath, received 39.79% of the vote.
County Commissioner - District 1 will be represented by Ronald Berges, who got 74.63% of the vote over Mark F. Turner, who had 25.37%.
The town of Julesburg passed an excise tax on the leasing or renting of any hotel room, motel room or other public lodging located in the town. It passed 56.87% to 43.13%.
Meanwhile in Logan County, incumbent Brett Lane Powell was reelected as sheriff over Craig Gilliland, 54.32% - 45.68%.
County voters also decided on a tax to improve the Sterling's wastewater system. 65.86% voted yes and 34.14% saying no.
The town of Fleming's municipal election date was passed changing from the first Tuesday of April to the Tuesday succeeding the first Monday of November, with a 72.73% to 27.27%, yes to no.
Voters passed the "best" grand funds for the Plateau RE-5 School District in Peetz, 67.21% to 32.79%. The "best" grant funds would provide money to renovate, rebuild, and improve the districts existing Pre-K through 12th grade school facility.
