KEARNEY, NE - Junior Gonzalez drilled a 28-yard field goal and the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers defeated Central Oklahoma 20-18 on Saturday afternoon at Cope Stadium.

The win came on the day UNK (7-3) recognized 19 seniors at its final home game of the season.

The Lopers overcame three fumbles and an interception to get the win. UNK managed 277 yards in the first half but only 17 points. The Lopers' offense sputtered in the second half but the defense stood up to limit the UCO (5-5). The Bronchos got to the red zone five times but only scored one touchdown.

UCO took an 18-17 lead with 7:56 left in the game but failed to extend its lead when Nicky Quevedo missed a field goal with 2:11 left. Then, UNK drove 60 yards in nine plays to set up Gonzelez's game-winning kick.

UNK finishes its regular season at Northeastern St. next week.
