Nebraska’s largest newspaper is calling out the state’s junior senator.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, Ben Sasse has “made little headway in Washington.”

At the same time the paper is urging Sasse to explain to Nebraskans why he’s leaving the Senate to apparently become the president of the University of Florida.

In its latest editorial, the paper speculates it’s likely the “caustic political climate” had a lot to do with it.

Last year Sasse was harshly criticized by his own party, still he insisted Trump was responsible for the January 6 riots at the Capitol, adding that “politics isn’t about the weird worship of one dude.”

In its editorial the OWH notes that in 2014 when he was first running for the Senate, citing his expertise in health care, Sasse told the voters he knew how to repeal and replace Obama care.

As the paper emphasizes that, “never happened.”
