UNK QB TJ Davis earns MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week
KEARNEY, NE — UNK football’s star quarterback is picking up conference recognition after a flashy performance on Saturday.
The MIAA selected TJ Davis as its Offensive Athlete of the Week on Monday. Davis rushed for 191 yards with three rushing touchdowns and threw for 134 yards and a score in the Lopers’ 38-6 thrashing of Central Missouri. The Colorado Springs native collected scoring runs of 14, 21 and 68 yards. He connected with WR Joe Stiffend for a 64-yard touchdown pass.
Davis is climbing up the Lopers’ career records charts during his senior season. He is now the third Loper to reach 3,000 career rushing yards and is also closing in on 4,000 career passing yards. He has rushed for at least 100 yards in three out of four games this season. With 533 rush yards on the season, Davis is second in all of NCAA football - regardless of division - in rushing yards for a quarterback.
