KEARNEY, Neb. -- This weekend's Nebraska GOP Convention was dramatic, with several members of state party leadership leaving their posts by the end of event. Chairman Dan Welch was replaced; sparking a dozen other major resignations. Political reporter Aaron Sanderford of the Nebraska Examiner was there to witness it all.

He sat down with NCN to share his experience. Watch the full interview to hear everything he had to say.

Notably, Sanderford said he has anticipated this since April after having interviewed activists.

Sanderford said, speaking with some of the leaders, that he thinks it won't be the end of their careers.

A bigger challenge, though, he said, is how the party will transform its presentation to gather donors and voters.

Sanderford reports that while Welch and others believe Nebraska will stay red, he believes it could allow some space for opposition parties in house races.
