LINCOLN, NE — Falls City Sacred Heart avenged its loss in the Girls Class D2 Championship Game from a year ago with a title win over Humphrey St. Francis 43-33 Friday night in Lincoln. 

The Irish led by five after a back-and-forth first quarter and were able to maintain that lead through the second. At the half, Falls City Sacred Heart held a 19-14 advantage. Humphrey St. Francis had a strong start to the third, taking a brief lead after a 7-2 run to get things started tied the game a 21. 

Falls City Sacred Heart scored the last six points of the third quarter, however, to retake the lead. In the fourth the Irish refused to surrender their advantage. Free throws and tough defense kept the Flyers at bay as Falls City Sacred Heart won 43-33. 

Senior Rachel Magdanz led the Irish to victory with 14 points. Kaylee Stricklin paced the Flyers with 10 points.
