HARTINGTON - The Cedar Catholic Trojans are headed back to State for the second straight year after dispatching North Central 75-42 Tuesday night in the C2-3 District final.
HCC was never challenged after opening up a 21-6 lead after one quarter, and went up by as many as 35 late in the game. The Trojans were paced by Carter Arens and his game-high 21 points. Jaxson Bernecker contributed 15 points and 5 rebounds, while Andrew Jones had a dynamite game off the bench, kicking in 13 points and 5 boards.
North Central made a nice run out of the halftime locker room, with Raden Orton (11 points on the night) and Dolan Pospichal (9 points) scoring some big buckets early in the 3rd quarter. But Cedar Catholic swiftly grabbed the momentum back. soaring to a 62-30 lead at the end of three and never looking back.
The Knights finish the year at 14-10, while Cedar Catholic (23-4) is on to Lincoln.
