VALLEY - Parts of the state got small amounts of snow on Friday, and now bitterly cold temperatures are expected to hover on Saturday.

While most of the state's winter weather advisories have expired, Gage, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee and Richardson Counties remain in southeast Nebraska remain in the advisory until 9:00 a.m. CT.

While snow amounts were minimal in much of the state, the snow fall followed rain earlier in the day that eventually froze underneath the snow, causing slippery conditions.

Most of the state will see sub-freezing temperatures, with morning wind chills reaching minus-10 degrees in some locations, thanks to winds that could gust to as high as 40 mph.
