GRAND ISLAND - The first night of the high school hoops season didn't disappoint.

Creighton Prep defeated Grand Island 62-60 in a back and fourth affair. 

Tied 60-60 less than 20 seconds to play, Grand Island had the ball coming out of a timeout. Virginia commit Isaac Traudt drove into traffic and had the ball stripped, allowing Prep to get the ball out to Martel Evans on the break to lay the ball in as time expired.

Traudt led all scorers on the night with 34, while Evan's paced Prep in scoring with 21.
