FREMONT, Neb. -- A school system in eastern Nebraska is issuing a statement after allegations of sexual harassment and assault.
Fremont Public Schools says over the past 24 hours, posts have been found on social media related to student safety at the middle school.
In the statement, school officials say this year several cases have been reported and followed up on.
Over the past 15 months the district has implemented increased training and protocols in regards to dealing with reports of sexual harassment.
They say this year, the District's School Resource Officer presented information to all middle school students in regards to the seriousness of touching other students and making inappropriate comments.
The District says it will not comment on specific situations in order to protect the privacy of students.
