OMAHA, Neb., October 29, 2021 — In conjunction with the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, BFF Omaha is partnering with Green Omaha Coalition to host a “Trashion Show” at The Sydney in Benson on November 5, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.

Local fashion designers were recruited to create pieces for the show, using sustainable, renewable, reusable, and earth-friendly materials.

The main “Trashion Show” will be followed by a performance by Florence Night Tehnsion and an amateur fashion show that welcomes the audience to participate. The amateur fashion show will be judged by the crowd and the winner will be awarded a Friends of BFF membership.

Additionally, BFF Omaha is partnering with Foodbank for the Heartland on a fall food drive that lasts throughout the month of November.

BFF Omaha asks the public to bring any non-perishable items to the following locations starting November 5: Taco Co., Infusion Brewing Co., The Sydney, Krug Park, Tip Top Thrift Shop, Citylight Arts Project, Benson Neighborhood Association, Benson Art Gallery, and Petshop.

Specifically, the Food Bank is looking for peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned tuna or chicken, cereal, pancake mix, canned fruit or vegetables, pasta and sauce, boxed meals, and pork and beans.

In Nebraska, 225,580 people are facing hunger - and of them, 71,560 are children, according to Feeding America.
