NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Two people are behind bars after a pursuit in central Nebraska.

Authorities say troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested the two after a pursuit in Dawson and Lincoln Counties overnight.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the incident began around midnight Tuesday when a trooper tried to pull over a car for not stopping at a stop sign after exiting I-80.

The driver reportedly provided a fake name and as another trooper arrived to help, the driver took off. The troopers then initiated a pursuit.

Authorities say the Cozad Police Department was able to successfully deploy stop sticks to slow the vehicle as it was in Cozad, but the vehicle continued to flee. The pursuit reached speeds of 120 miles per hour before ending near the town of Brady.

Officials say that in Brady, a Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy was able to successfully deploy a second set of stop sticks. Shortly after, the vehicle drove off the roadway, through a pasture fence, and came to a stop in a field.

The two were taken into custody without further incident.

The driver, a 17-year-old girl was lodged for avoiding arrest, criminal impersonation and traffic violations.

Twenty-eight-year-old Emmanuel Reynoza of Illinois was arrested for obstruction, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and outstanding warrants.
