BRIDGEPORT - Junior Colby Lewis' extra point with 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference in Bridgeport's first win of the season. 

Junior Kason Loomis rushed the ball 19 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns, and the Bulldogs defeated Valentine 21-20 at Bridgeport High School on Friday night. His last touchdown run set-up the game-winning field goal.

Loomis also registered a game-high 17 tackles on defense, including one tackle for loss. Senior Rafi Cantu finished with 15 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. 

Lewis was 3-3 on PAT attempts.

Valentine junior quarterback Ashton Lurz was 12-21 for 118 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for another 87 yards on 16 carries and a score. 

Senior Conner Fowler rushed the ball for 58 yards on eight carries. Junior Will Sprenger caught a 46-yard touchdown pass and recorded an interception on defense.

Bridgeport (1-6) travels to Imperial next Friday to play Chase County (2-5). Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will air on 98.7 FM, newschannelnebraska.com and the NCN app.

The Badgers fall to 1-5 and are at Gordon-Rushville next Friday.
