Man arrested for vandalizing 'offensive' statue
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A Lexington man was arrested over the weekend for vandalizing a yard decoration that he said was offensive.
According to Grand Island Police, Anshah Mohamed Anshah and another person saw the yard decoration on Saturday.
Anshah told police his friend found the decoration to be offensive and racist, that's when police say Anshah vandalized the statue.
The decoration appears to be an antique yard statue that depicts a black child holding a fishing pole.
The fishing pole was knocked off.
Police say when the owner went to see what was happening, Anshah reportedly threatened to shoot her.
Anshah was later found and arrested for terroristic threats, criminal mischief and possession of marijuana.
