Lincoln County has a new treasurer.

LINCOLN COUNTY, Neb. -- Lincoln County has a new treasurer.
Alex Gurciullo took the oath of office in Lincoln County District Court Friday morning. She was sworn in by District Judge Richard Birch.
The Maxwell native has a business administration and accounting degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and has four years of audit experience.
She worked for Manning and Associated in Geneva before applying for the job.
She was appointed by the Lincoln County Commissioner earlier this month.
"I think that tackling it head-on, I will be able to solve a lot of problems," said Gurciullo. "Especially with all the help that I have with the different offices, with my county attorney, and I really think that we can change the view of the treasurer's office. And that's really my goal."
The 27-year-old said she's excited to hit the ground running on Monday. She's the youngest person to be appointed the position in the last 30 years.
Lincoln County's precious treasurer resigned in July after being arrested for theft.
