The head of the Nebraska Democratic Party is crying foul over what appears to be the state’s new congressional map, a map that arguably puts the so-called blue dot at risk.

According to Jane Kleeb, the map was “gerrymandered by the GOP.”

Although some Democratic state senators voted for the map, Kleeb says it was carved out to accommodate GOP Congressman Don Bacon’s plan to build a new house in southwest Sarpy County.

While there are 17 Democrats in the one-house legislature the new map passed with only 10 no votes.

A top Nebraska Republican who did not want to be identified tells NCN, the new map clearly favors the GOP, by adding in heavily Republican Saunders county and several conservative leaning Omaha suburbs in Sarpy county.

Kleeb tells NCN Democrats are, “Not going to let a map throw us off our game.” She insists the blue dot, one of the state’s five electoral votes won by Joe Biden in 2020 and Barack Obama in 2008, will only get bigger in the future.
