NORFOLK -- Imagine walking from Norfolk to Valentine! That's what the 'Cowboy Trail' starting in Ta-Ha-Zouka Park of Norfolk offers, and now there's signs to welcome you into each town along the way; and mark each of the 321 miles.

The new signs make the trail safer, according to Visit Norfolk Area Nebraska's Executive Director Traci Jeffrey.

Jeffrey had appreciated the path as a major tourist attraction for a while -- from as soon as she took on her job. She had reached out to Nebraska Game and Parks, hoping to accomplish the task. The organization funded and installed the 321 signs, finally allowing her goal to be reached.

Jeffrey said you don't have to walk, bike, or ride far to see its beauty.

"My family and I like to come out here a lot of times to just go out and do a walk on a Saturday morning, especially when it's weather like today," Jeffrey said.

The trail is part of the 'Rails to Trails' national effort to create a trail from Washington D.C., to Washington State.
