World medalists to coach wrestling camp in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Neb. - After girls wrestling officially joined NSAA sanctioned activities in May, Norfolk High School is offering a girl's wrestling camp to educate young athletes in northeast Nebraska.
Wrestlers from Grand View University in Des Moines, IA will be running the camp Saturday.
Assistant Coach Aryles Valles said it's their first camp in Nebraska.
"There is an education you can get with the sport," said Valles. "You can get your college paid for from wrestling and all the opportunities you can get. We're very grateful for what wrestling has done with us, in the past, what it's opened for us, so we wanted to give that to the girls too."
The camp is for anyone in Nebraska in 3rd-12th grade.
Although the young ones might not be thinking about college just yet, Valles said it's more about exposure.
"Make them fall in love with wrestling," said Valles. "Show them that the sport is fun. The young ages are so much fun because like they're sponges and they pick up everything so much more and they're actually a lot more aggressive."
