OPD investigates fatal weekend shooting

One dead and one in the hospital after a weekend shooting in Omaha Sunday.

OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha Police responded to a call Sunday evening to investigate a shooting.

On Sunday just after 11:00 p.m., Omaha police investigated a shooting in a parking lot at 9901 Nicholas Street.

Police say that when officers arrived they found an adult male, 18-year-old, Franco Vasquez and adult female victim, 18-year-old, Haley Grim.

Authorities say Grim was transported by medics to CUMC - Bergan Mercy Hospital in critical condition, with non-life-threatening injuries; and Vasquez was declared dead at the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
