GERING - The Chadron High softball team suffered their 2nd loss to Gering in less than a week on Tuesday night as the Bulldogs run-ruled the Cardinals 11-1.

The Gering win snaps a streak of back to back wins for the Cardinals coming out of last weekend’s McCook Tournament, the longest such streak of the season.

Kinley Richardson led off the game with Chadron’s only run, a solo homer to left field.

Gering countered with 5 in the bottom of the first and followed it with four in the 2nd and one in the 3rd to go up 10-1.

Another Bulldog run in the bottom of the 4th ended the game. Gering’s offense came up with 14 hits to produce their 11 runs.

The Cards finished the day with 5 hits and a trio of errors. They now sit a 4-6 on the year.

Chadron will head to the Twin City Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Cardinals will face Scottsbluff and Hershey on Friday in Scottsbluff and wrap things up with Alliance and Gering on Saturday in Gering.
