BEATRICE - A painting from the collection at the Gage County Historical Society is in need of repairs, and the museum is looking to the upcoming Big Give Gage Fundraiser for help.

Administrator Cassandra Dean explained the significance of the painting.

“So the painting is the corner of 6th/Ella,” Dean said. “Which was done during the time when the Lang Grocery Store was open here in Beatrice.”

The painting is in need of some work, as paint began to come off, and it needed overall touch up’s.

“We’ve sent it to the Ford Conservation Center in Omaha,” Dean said. “We want to get it restored so we can bring it back out for the public to enjoy.”

Big Give Gage is going to be crucial for the historical society as the repairs are not cheap.“We are asking about $3,000 to be sent to the Ford Conservation Center for the painting to be restored,” Dean said.
