(Peru, Neb.) – On September 3, the Bobcat women's cross country team completed in the 2021 UNK Invitational and placed third in the meet.

The Kearney invitational was hosted by the University of Kearney of Nebraska and the female runners ran a 4K.

The University of Nebraska Kearney won the meet as they had a score of 18 and had five out of the six place runners in the meet. Coming in second was Fort Hays State (Kan.) with a score of 39. Finishing third was Peru State College with a score of 85.

Sarah Davis-Kovarik (Palmrya) was Peru State top runner as she finished with a time of 18:01.70 which was good for 30^th place. Kovarik was 15^th in terms of scoring.

Sarah Vodicka (Geneva) was the second runner for the 'Cats who crossed the finish line. Vodicka finished with a time of 19:33.30 which was good for 32^nd place. In terms of scoring Vodicka was 16^th.

Alyssa Brink (Oakland) was 33^rd/17^th with a time of 19:48.30. Naomi Wilson (Council Bluffs, Iowa) was 34^th/18^th with a time of 20:02.30.

Emma Larson (Fremont, Neb.) was 35^th/19^th in 20:05.50. Isabella Watkins (Omaha) was 36^th/20^th in a time of 20:44.10. Aubrey Wattier (Raymond) was 37^th/21^stin 21:44.10.

Brenna Davis (Auburn) was 38^thplace with a time of 24:53.20 and Abigail Neal (Peru) finished with a time of 26:21.30 for 39^th place.

Coach Cole said that, "I am looking forward to the team competing in Lincoln. Historically the meet is much larger with a greater range of competition. We should have another runner, Jenna Brocker, cross the finish line for Peru."

Upcoming Meet

The next meet Coach Cole and his harriers will compete in will be the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invite on Saturday, Sept. 18, in Lincoln. It is hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan and the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. The women's race will begin at 10 a.m. at Mahoney Park Golf Course.
