NEBRASKA CITY- In the most recent Nebraska City Hot Topics meeting, four small business owners from Nebraska City shared how they started, and where they are going.

Of the four small business entrepreneurs, Cindy Gude from Little Things Boutique told her businesses story first.

Gude spoke about how COVID-19 hindered the businesses initial start date, but Gude and her team of staff opened doors in August 2021. Little Things Boutique specializes in children's clothing, and is located in downtown Nebraska City.

Honey Self, owner of Self Expressions Gallery, followed Gude and spoke about how when she took over in 2019 that the artists featured rose from 25 to upwards up 40 in 2021, despite COVID.

Cornhusker Beef and owner Derek Grotrian were on the docket for the meeting as well. Grotrian reiterated how Cornhusker Beef is "one of the best places for beef in the area," and how Cornhusker Beef was initially supposed to be located in Syracuse, Nebraska, but Grotrian was shown the pros of downtown Nebraska City and couldn't refuse.

The final speaker from the August Hot Topics meeting was that of Josh and Kayti Hayes from Relax and Unwind. Josh and Kayti began the business as something to do on the side, but soon after business began booming, Josh Hayes quit his full time job.

Relax and Unwind has a location in Hamburg, Iowa, as well as the newest brick and mortar building inside the Nebraska City Fareway. They specialize in coffee and drinks, but also have plenty of other things for those not too keen on coffee.

B103 will be at Relax and Unwind this upcoming Friday, August 13th, as one of the stops for "River Country Riches" from 11 am to 1 pm.
