WINSIDE, Neb. – Over 100 tractors from across northeast Nebraska gathered in Winside Saturday afternoon to raise money – and spirits – for a local resident battling terminal cancer.

The sixth annual Winside Tractor Drive has raised money for various causes in the past, including the local FFA chapter and backpacks for area students. This year, the event raised funds to support Winside resident Terry Thies.

Besides bringing in funds for the Thies family, the event also offered the chance to raise the spirits of Thies. The tractor route went past Thies’ rural Winside home, giving him a chance to see the parade of vehicles go past his house.

The tractor drive, which is organized by Doug and Jill Wylie, included a poker run and a free will dinner at the Winside American Legion.
