Peru State football coach Casey Creehan recently announced that Nathan Barnes (Clarinda, Iowa) signed his national letter of intent to join the Bobcat football program this fall.

(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State football coach Casey Creehan recently announced that Nathan Barnes (Clarinda, Iowa) signed his national letter of intent to join the Bobcat football program this fall.
Barnes, son of Carrie Karg of Clarinda and Joel Barnes (Westboro, Mo.), recently graduated from Clarinda High School. Nathan Barnes will play football for the Bobcats this fall. At Barnes' signing was Peru State coaching assistant Lou Varley
The 6'0, 210-pound kicker/punter had a decorated high school career. In 2019 he was a 1st Team All District Kicker and 2ndTeam All District Punter. In 2020 he was a 1st Team All District Kicker, 1st Team All District Punter, and was selected as 1stTeam All State Kicker in Iowa Class 2A.
He will join the Bobcats this fall and major in wildlife ecology and biology. In addition to his football scholarship, Barnes has accepted the TJ Majors Success Award.
