Severe thunderstorm warnings in effect

Severe weather is scattering across much of Nebraska Friday night.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Severe weather is back in northeast Nebraska.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect until midnight for Dodge, Madison, Knox, Pierce, Platte, Butler, Colfax, Cedar, Saunders, Stanton, Wayne, Holt and Antelope Counties. Monona, Burt, Cuming and Thurston are in severe thunderstorm warnings until 11:30 p.m. CT.

Heavy winds and hail damage are likely, according to the National Weather Service in Omaha.

Central Nebraska is also dealing with severe thunderstorm warnings. Adams, Gosper, Phelps, Kearney, Furnas, Harlan, Greeley, Nance, Hamilton, Buffalo, York, Fillmore, Thayer, Nuckolls, Franklin, Webster, Merrick, Sherman, Howard, Hall and Custer Counties are in severe thunderstorm warnings until 11:30 p.m. CT.
