(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State softball coach JL Thomason and staff recently announced that Maddie Howard (Council Bluffs, Iowa) signed her national letter of intent to join the softball program this fall.
 
Howard, daughter of Megan and Nate Howard, is a recent graduate from Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. While she has primarily played softball at Lewis Central, she could play at multiple infield positions.

Howard was a four-year letterman for the varsity softball team for the Titans. She was also a Hawkeye 10 second team honoree in 2020 as well as an All-City athlete. She hit .329 with 17 RBI in 70 at bats this past season.
 
She plans on majoring in elementary education at Peru State in the fall. On top of her softball scholarship, she will also receive the McKenzie Scholarship.
