BELGRADE, Neb. -- A central Nebraska Fire Department is getting a big upgrade.

The Belgrade Volunteer Fire Department just finished up the fire hall six months ago.

Fire Chief Bob Dodd said using only the old one simply wasn't practical anymore.

"We kind of outgrew the old hall," Dodd said. "With the trucks getting bigger and newer, it's just going to take more room."

Dodd said the fire department is still using both the new fire hall and the old one.

The community of approximately 200 people is responsible for fighting fires in the northern region of Nance County.
