MADISON, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska woman will spend the next few years behind bars for a shooting that left a man injured.

28-year-old Jamie Rodriguez, of Norfolk, was sentenced in Madison County Court on Thursday to 5-8 years in prison for second-degree assault.

Court records show that in 2019, Rodriguez shot the victim in the groin inside her car.

Reports show the victim had to be taken to an Omaha hospital for treatment.

Rodriguez was given credit for 55 days served and will be eligible for parole after serving two and a half years of her sentence.
