BEATRICE – A one-vehicle northeast Kansas accident claimed the life of a Horton, Kansas man, Tuesday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident in Brown County happened at about 7:15 p.m., near Kansas Highway 20 and Falcon Road…eight miles west of Horton.

The KHP says 73-year-old Irvin Jessepe, of Horton was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Blazer south on Falcon Road, when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason. 

The SUV struck a fence and then an embankment.   Jessepe died at the scene of the accident.  A Kansas Highway Patrol investigator said the driver was not using a safety restraint.

Horton, Kansas is about 30 miles south of Falls City, Nebraska.
