North Platte City Council discusses possible venue change for future packing plant meetings
A possible change of venue could be in the works when it comes to the proposed beef packing plant.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A possible change of venue could be in the works when it comes to the proposed beef packing plant.
As it stands, Sustainable Beef LLC hasn’t submitted a redevelopment plan to the council. Nonetheless, the council wants to be prepared.
Mayor Brandon Kelliher said he received a written request to consider the relocation whenever an item relating to the $280 million project is on the agenda.
City officials have budgeted $4,200 for technology capabilities at the temporary host site.
In March, Sustainable Beef LLC, announced plans to build a 875-employee beef processing plant on the city’s east side.
Mayor Kelliher said several churches have offered their facility at no extra cost. No action was taken after the discussion.
