(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State cheer coaches Cara Cepuran and Carlene Cudney recently announced the addition of Benjamin Tomas (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) as he signed his national letter of intent to join the Bobcat cheer program.

Tomas will be a junior at Peru State this fall and currently plays football as a linebacker for the Bobcats. He decided this spring to join the cheer team and will start this fall with the cheer program as well.

He was awarded the Lion Heart Award in the past. The Lion Heart Award is a presidential honor that recognizes the valuable contributions of volunteers who are answering the President's call to serve others through their current volunteer activities.

Tomas is a double major at Peru State in management and marketing. On top of any athletic scholarship from football and cheer, Tomas has been receiving the TJ Majors Scholarship during his time at Peru.
