SEWARD, Neb. -- A former Nebraska school superintendent is striking a deal with prosecutors after being accused of abusing a student.
57-year-old Tim DeWaard pleaded no contest to attempted child abuse in Seward County District Court last week. He was originally charged with felony child abuse.
Authorities arrested DeWaard last July. He was superintendent of Centennial Schools in Utica at the time but has since been fired.
The alleged victim told investigators DeWaard asked for shirtless photos over Snapchat. The teenager said DeWaard would have him sit on his lap and touched his inner thigh while in his locked office.
Sentencing is set for August 2nd. He could face up to two years in prison.
